Now, the first step is admitting that you have a problem. 🙂  My dad always taught me that one piece of chocolate is always good for you right after dinner.  But, he never talked about a double dose.  These double chocolate chip cookies are to die for!

Tip:  Make sure when you drop the spoonfuls of batter onto the UNGREASED pan, make sure they are as equal as possible.

I’ve had a lot of troubles with this specific tip.  I would just slap some batter onto the pan and some of them would cook perfectly and some of them would be burnt or undercooked.  If they are all approximately the same size then you will have nothing to worry about (unless they are all undercooked or overcooked).  Don’t be too anal about it, but just try to make them of equal proportions.

This recipe is an amazing cookie recipe.  This is my first time trying it, and I stuck strictly to the recipe and it was beyond amazing and a great use of chocolate.  Don’t forget to follow my first tip and use a wire rack and take them out as soon as they are hard enough on the bottom to hold their own.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies (yes, two chocolates)

2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 sticks butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
2 cups chocolate chips,
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)



Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl stir together flour, salt, and baking soda. In another large bowl stir together butter, both sugars, eggs, vanilla and cocoa. Gradually stir flour mixture into butter mixture and mix until combined. Stir chocolate chips and walnuts, if using, and stir to distribute evenly.

For cookies: Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets and bake about 10 minutes. Cool on a baking rack.
